The PHONICS Road Level Three

phonics road level three curriculum

Adding Designing Elements to the Framing

The Apprentice graduates to Journeyman in this first intermediate level, which begins with a comprehensive review of all 1000+ words from the previous levels in Spelling Log format with Rule Tunes® practice. All new Building Codes® designed for cursive writing are built along with 350+ new junior high equivalent words to build and analyze.

After a comprehensive review of Framing Codes® and Grammar Tunes® from Level Two, the Journeyman learns new grammar structures with all new Framing Keys® and sentence application. The Journeyman is introduced to Designing Codes®, the Latin style of English spelling with the designing components and principles that Latin brings to English spelling. The Journeyman builds another 400 words using these designing tools in both notebook and game format. In this level there are two literature readers, Robert Fulton Boy Craftsman and Benjamin West and His Cat Grimalkin, where the Journeyman expands his composition skills as he coordinates grammar and composition to build notebooks for each book.

Testimonials

  • I am so grateful to you for putting this information in a format that I can use. I wish every child could be taught English this way! …I wish there were a way to convince everyone to pay the price to get this program. I know from first-hand experience and much research that teaching this method from the very beginning will prevent so many learning disorders later on. Someday I would like to use this method to tutor children who are having difficulty reading. - Lori R.

  • We are now nearing the completion of Level 3, and my son is not only learning English from the origins (Latin, Old French, Old English), but he has grown adept at determining the meaning of words by looking at the root and suffixes/prefixes. - Ann M.
