LATIN Road Online
Hello, I’m Barbara Beers and welcome to the Latin Road Online, providing a highly effective way to learn with recorded self-paced video classes teaching through Volumes I and II of the popular LATIN Road to English Grammar. I am eager to share my 35 years experience teaching Latin to students and adults, beginner to advanced, using my multi-sensory method for optimal learning. My curricula not only provides a complete Latin study but is well-known for its comprehensive English grammar, vocabulary and advanced spelling helps uniquely integrated to provide full language experience and skills. And the BEST part is that I make my classes fun, interesting and easy to understand, winning over even the most hesitant student.
The classes are set up in affordable sections on Podia, an elearning/course delivery platform. That consolidates everything in one location – payments, videos, file uploads/downloads, and the ability to communicate with me all along the way. You’ll see ‘podia.com’ in the URL when you’re on the Podia website. The scholastudies.com website (this site) will remain the main hub for The LATIN Road to English Grammar and The PHONICS Road to Spelling and Reading.
What I Can Offer You
- Custom recorded classes with all the elements of a personal live class: detailed explanations, vocabulary drill, word studies, building and rebuilding translations together, answering questions that come up from students, reviewing together, etc.
Volume I: 6 sections of 5 video classes in each section.
Volume II: 7 sections of 5 video classes in each section.
- 4 days of assignments each class involving vocabulary drill practice and about 30 minutes of written work which students complete before viewing the next class. These assignments can be expanded for those who need more time; or assignments can be combined to move quickly through the material.

- I correct all translation exercises, worksheets and tests with the students during the class following when they are assigned, so teachers can look ahead to see those answers in you like.
- By the end of Volume I, students will find that their spelling has improved, their memories have become sharp, their ability to reason will have increased, and they are becoming proficient in translating between Latin and English.
- By the end of Volume II students have proficiency in Latin and English and have overcome previous struggles with memory, spelling, grammar, etc.
